Remy Ma plans to appeal the verdict handed down by the Manhattan Supreme Court onThursday. Remy was found guilty of four charges which could carry a prison sentence of up to 25 years.

In other news regarding Remy, she still plans on wedding rapper Papoose this summer. The intial plan was to have the ceremony on a yacht but plans have changed. Remy and Pap are now planning to wed in a prison ceremony.

Rapper T.I. doesn't have to start his one year sentence until March 27, 2009.

Fabolous associate, Freck Billionaire, was arrested Tuesday March 25 for selling narcotics to an undercover police officer. He also has warrants for his arrest in Philadelphia for parole volation, missing a court appearance, and giving false information. He describes on his myspace page his illicit activities.

Rapper, actor, director, Ice Cube has recently sold his script to Dimension Films. This is the first script he has written since "Friday After Next". The name of the movie is "Janky Promoters". Cube is also working on his 9th studio album "Raw Footage".

Remy Ma has been found guilty on four out of the nine charges she faced.; 2 counts of first degree assault, attempted coercion, and criminal possession of a weapon.

The charges stem from the shooting of Markeda Barnes-Joseph after an altercation with Remy Ma, born Remy Smith. Allegedly Smith shot Barnes-Joseph after accusing her of stealing $3,000 in cash. The defense tried to convince the jury the shooting was accidential.

Remy was not found guilty of gang assault and witness tampering.

She faces five to twenty five years behind bars.

I'm hurt cause i'm actually a Remy fan but that's how it goes. Does that mean she is no longer marrying Papoose? And what is going to become of the female MC because Remy was the best....

T.I. Update

According to rumors Rapper T.I. is going to plead guilty to federal gun charges. T.I., born Clifford Harris, faces 10 years in a federal penitentary of convicted.

The report says the plea deal will allow Harris to serve around 12 months in prison and do 1500 hours of community service. The judge is expected to review the plea at around 1:30pm.

I don't know about ya'll but I wouldn't wanna go to court against the FEDS either, they have like a 86 percent conviction rate. TIP and TI might dodge a bullet with this one (no pun intended).

Two more album release dates were announced today. Florida based rapper, Plies, announced that his second album, "Definition of Real", will be released on June 24. Plies' first album, "The Real Testament" was certified gold. Plies has also teamed up with the magazine Don Diva, to promote his upcoming prison tour. The first single off the new album is entitled "Bust It Baby Pt. 2".

Lil' Wayne has announced the release date for his highly anticipated album, "The Carter III". The album is slated to drop May 13 and Wayne's new single "Lollipop" is getting spins all over the country.

Rapper, Game, has announced that his highly anticipated album, L.A.X. (Los Angelos Times) will be released June 24 the first day of summer. When asked about the album Game responded "On Lax I'm addressing real issues that other artists might be scared to talk about on record."

Game was just recently released from Twin Tower Correctional facility after serving 8 of a 60 day sentence all stemming from an incident at a basketball game. According to a lawsuit filed Game punched a man then threatened to "blast him" while brandishing a weapon. He pled no contest and was sentenced to 60 days.

In other news, female MC Remy Ma has been in the news recently regarding her trial for first degree assault. Remy Ma, born Remy Smith is accused of shooting a former friend, Markeda Barnes-Joseph, last July. The shooting took place after Remy discover $3,000 was missing from her purse. She accused Barnes-Joseph and demanded that she empty the contents of her purse. After which she was allegedly shot by Remy.

Now, in Barnes-Joseph's own testimony, she claims that the gun went off during the struggle for the bag. Early last week Barnes-Joseph dropped her 20 million dollar civil suit against Remy. Remy faces 25 years in prison if convicted.

Last and least, a 12-year old boy was arrested for throwing a rock through Soulja Boy's tour bus windshield during a stop in Illinois last Thursday. When question by police as to why he did it, he told officers "I hate Soulja Boy!"

I'm not a Soulja Boy fan either but they go hard in Illinois!!

The Elephant In The Room ***1/2
Before I get into the actual songs lets quickly outline the concept of this album, The Elephant In The Room, is an image of a huge reality that everyone ignores out of convenience; rather than admit it’s there and be forced to deal with the elephant in the living room. This is the argument that Fat Joe is trying to make with this album, he has put out great material and albums in the past but everyone ignores him as if he has not contributed to the rap game. The best track of the album features KRS-One Joe; actually makes the claim he’s the G.O.A.T.greatest of all time and is promptly corrected by KRS.

If Fat Joe was not on your top ten list before this album he will not be after it, this album did not help his status any; it did not contribute to his status nor did it detract to it. Do not confuse this for a diss, this is not a bad album it’s just not a great one. Joe’s strength has always been in his ability to describe scenes and situations. It seems that he’s either ran out of things to describe or that he has lost interest in that style of hip-hop, on tracks like "K.A.R" and "My Conscience" you see what this entire album could have been.

Now to cover the two questions most casual fans will have about the album, does he respond to attacks made by his rivals and how is the Lil Wayne collaboration? To answer the first, yes and no, while he never dedicates a track to someone like 50 or Remy Ma he does take subliminal shots at a few of them, for example on the track Crack House "Convicts in my plane when we roll up/ and they hustle ye not Vitamin wata" is an example of the indirect responses he has for his enemies. Speaking of crack house featuring Lil Wayne, I must say it’s a disappointment and not just because Wayne only does the hook. The song Crack House struggles to be anything worth noting, it seems to be just random thoughts combined with mediocre punch lines, it leaves me wondering what the goal was for this song; as a club song its doesn’t have the lasting appeal of "Make It Rain" and a song about crack isn’t as radio friendly as "Lean Back", and it really leaves you with the question of why they didn’t re-record this.

After his first week flop (a little over 50, 000 units sold) Fat Joe has decided to release a mixtape dissing 50 Cent and G-Unit. The mixtape will be titled "Gay Unit Vol. 1" and will feature mixtape rookie Suge White with Joe playing the host. This mixtape is in direct responds to the G-Unit mixtape "Elephant in The Sand", which had over 700,000 downloads according to Thisis50.com.

50 Cent held a faux funeral for Fat Joe's career after seeing the new soundscan numbers.

Presidential candidate Barack Obama is on the cover of the new Rolling Stone magazine. He is coming off a victory in Wyoming and his is expected to win in Mississippi on Tuesday. Barack is also leading in delegates.

So everyone has been waiting to find out who will play the late, great Notorious B.I.G. in his upcoming movie "Notorious", now we know. Jamal "Gravy" Woodlard has been chosen. The movie is due out 2009.

In TV News....

Snoop is having a big year. First his show "Fatherhood", then he drops another album (which isn't bad), and now VH1 has confirmed that they are going to have Snoop be the focus of another show. The show is called "Storytellers" and one episode will feature Snoop.

Also Luke is getting a show called "Parental Advisory" and Tiffany "New York" Pollard is schedule for another season of I Love New York, which will be based on her trying to become an A list actress in Hollywood. She has also ditched her fiance Taylor Made, if anyone cares.

This is the fifth time New York has been on TV, Hoopz is a pornstar (allegedly)....New York won!!! On a real note all this coonery and buffonery is starting to bother me. People are really going to thing all black people act like Flav, New York, Luke, and Plies (Bust It Babe). Give Barack a TV show!!!

Papoose, 50 Cent, Fat Joe......

I don't know if you heard but over the weekend there was apparently a little scuffle between rappers Papoose and Fat Joe. As the story goes, Papoose was in Cassidy's hotel room and Fat Joe comes in with his people. Joe then asks Pap, "Do you have a problem with me?" and Pap responds "Do you have a problem with me?" Joe says yes and Papoose hooks off. After the initial fight Papoose then asks Fat Joe to give him a fair one and Joe declines.

After this incident there was a picture floating around on the internet of Fat Joe with a gash over his eye and a cut on his nose (see above). This picture was confirmed to be a phony. Papoose did a radio interview in which he described the event (Listen here). Fat Joe then drops a internet video saying a fight never went down because he hasn't fought since junior high. Joe also goes on to diss 50 and friends.

Fifty's camp is alledgedly respondsible for the photoshopped picture of Fat Joe. 50 has decided to release a mixtape on the same day as Fat Joe's new CD "Elephant in the Room". 50 has entitled the mixtape "Return of the Bodysnatcher Part II: Elephant in the Sand".
